History
HealthNet is a not-for-profit 501(c) (3) corporation providing primary care health services to the medically underserved.
Since 1968, HealthNet has improved the health status of Indianapolis’ inner-city neighborhoods by making quality health services accessible to everyone. From its beginnings in a converted bank building staffed by one physician, HealthNet has grown to a regional organization with more than 600 employees. It is one of Indiana’s largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
Through its network of 9 community-based, comprehensive primary care health centers, 5 dental clinics, 10 school-based clinics, 1 mobile health center and support services, HealthNet annually provides affordable health care to more than 60,085 individuals – most of whom live at or below the federal poverty level. In 2021, the centers accounted for over 201,326 patient visits.
