HealthNet Expands Specialty Care Access with Grand Opening of New Facility
1/23/2025
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – HealthNet has officially opened HealthNet Specialty Care at Barrington, a new healthcare facility designed to improve access to much-needed specialty care services in Marion County. Located at 3403 E. Raymond St., Suite 100, the center offers podiatry, chiropractic care, behavioral health, and a full-service Eye Care Center with eye exams and an optical shop for glasses fittings.
This new facility is expected to serve 6,850 Hoosiers and address a growing need for affordable specialty healthcare.
“Access to specialty care is a major challenge in the communities we serve due to a national shortage of providers,” said HealthNet President/CEO Rene’ Kougel. “Patients referred to outside specialists often face a 6-9 month wait time, and about 50% of referrals are never completed, leading to poor health outcomes. HealthNet Specialty Care at Barrington brings essential specialty services directly to our patients, reducing delays and improving overall care.”
Bridging the Specialty Care Gap
Recognizing this healthcare access crisis, HealthNet took action by expanding its in-house specialty services. The new HealthNet Specialty Care at Barrington is the result of this effort, bringing multiple specialties under one roof.
Renovations for the facility began in May 2024, designed by Halstead Architects and constructed by Mattingly Construction. The project was made possible by a $1.1 million grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
